Magical Thinking

Confession: I believe in magical thinking.

I don't think things are going to fall out of the sky, but I do believe they materialize with magical thinking.

When we were kids, we had the wildest imagination. For example, I wanted to be a princess and a writer. I do consider myself to be a princess and a writer currently--my husband tells me I'm bougie and dainty (princess qualities, lol).

But getting back to my point.

Magical thinking is not a bad thing...when used as a step rather than an entire method. Like, no, I can't meditate for 5 hours a day and expect 1 billion dollars to land in my lap on the 6th hour of the 6th day--duh (although, Universe, let me know if that's an option).

Magical thinking is combining thought with visualization. It's allowing yourself to see (third eye) a future you cannot see (physical eyes) in front of you.

As we grow up, our imagination gets stomped out of us. We're taught to be realistic--not understanding that our power is in having a vivid imagination. The more we delve into the 3D--the realism, the physical effect--the further we move away from our dreams.

I was watching this really terrible movie with my husband a few months ago, a Disney movie I won't specify. The best part of this movie was the grandfather. He'd given his dream away to the king of the village, and he'd lost all hope, believing (just like the other villagers) that his dream would be fulfilled by the magical king. The sad part was that the king was taking in the dreams of the villagers and harvesting the energy for himself!

Message!

When you give away your dreams--your magical thinking--you give away your power to someone who will not fulfil it for you.

What's the point of this, because, yes, I ramble, lol.

The point is to use magical thinking as a starting point!

Wouldn't you rather power up your own dreams than power up someone else's? I've been there--I gave away my dreams, and the more I gave away my dreams for the benefit of others, the more I powered up people who not only did not see my worth but began to see me as a nuisance.

Wouldn't you rather bypass that by pouring into yourself?

Don't be afraid to use your imagination...no matter who deems it to be silly...no matter who points out this or that or why blah blah blah blah blah. It's all noise that has yet to get you to where you want to be.

You can balance your magical thinking with realism...because what you imagine is what you create (realize/actualize/materialize).

...And this message is brought to you by my home-made Vietnamese coffee ☕ 😅 .
