Day 10: Cassie Sneezes Her Way Into a Crush
For fuck’s sake!
Cassie pinched the bridge of her nose as she crossed the bookstore’s threshold, but it was no use. When she lowered her hand, an army of dust invaded her nostrils, resulting in ten rapid sneezes—like an AK-47.
Fucking dust mites!
By the time she reached her last sneeze, the store owner had made his way to her side, floorboards groaning under his steel-toed boots as he handed her a tissue with an apologetic smile, “Sorry about the dust.”
“Oh, it’s o—” tissue pressed against her nose, she marveled at the man before her. He was the most beautiful man she’d ever seen. “...kay.”
She looked like a complete fucking weirdo gawking at him, but he didn’t notice. He’d left her side in a frenzy, promising to come back with the vacuum.
Cassie didn’t give a fuck. She was focused on other things—like her heart galloping in her chest, and relief inundating her body, washing residual regret away.
She was suddenly very happy that she had slammed the door in Ashton’s face.
Pressing her hand against her chest, she smiled. This is what it was like to fall in love again. Ashton hadn't ruined her.
